Automobiles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities reported they were notified by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then found many other marked vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis show the fluid was probably human blood.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; officials are currently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

City officials stated they were working "to solve the case" and have appealed to the community for details.

A high-ranking political figure commented the incident made him speechless and required to be resolved promptly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, recalling the killing of nine victims by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
